For underground single-conductor supply, a thicker-looking black wire is not enough evidence. RWU90 identifies a Canadian underground-rated thermoset wire family, with dimensions and performance that must be tied to the selected size. A precise enquiry helps separate it from ordinary RW90 stock.

Inside the cable
The selected copper reference has a single stranded conductor surrounded by substantial XLPE thermoset insulation. It has no separate multicore jacket, armour, foil or concentric neutral. The reference insulation wall varies with conductor size; a dimension taken from an older catalogue or another underground family should not be copied into the order drawing. Conductor metal, strand count and insulation thickness need explicit confirmation.

Where it is used
RWU90 is relevant to permitted underground service and power routes, including direct burial within the selected product’s application scope. Canadian-market importers may need bulk reels for distributor stock or continuous project lengths. The route can include sunlight-exposed sections, trays or equipment transitions, each of which should be reviewed for the required markings and installation method.

Ratings and selection points
The catalogue reference is a 1,000 V copper RWU90 product. Confirm that voltage on the actual supplied cable, and do not infer every additional sunlight or tray rating from RWU90 alone. The 90°C insulation category does not override terminal temperatures or installation derating. Burial protection, handling radius and cold installation limits remain part of the design and logistics review.

A clearer factory RFQ
A Canadian underground-power RFQ should list copper or aluminium, AWG/kcmil, required voltage and colour. State direct burial or duct routing, any sunlight/tray needs and length per reel. Request the current size-specific drawing and conductor-resistance requirement, with package dimensions suitable for the customer’s reel equipment.
Compare the TGS RWU90 configurations for the available reference size tables. State the required conductor resistance, nominal dimensions, test documents and marking for the exact order. Reference tables and illustrations guide the enquiry; the agreed drawing and approved specification define production.
Manufacturing in Vietnam with TGS
TGS Cable Industrial is a large manufacturing group producing wire and cable in Vietnam. The group has served Costco, Walmart, Target and many other customers for more than five years. That company-wide experience informs our work with importers, distributors and retail supply programmes. For your RWU90 enquiry, our factory team reviews the construction, destination requirements, quantities and packing before confirming the order.

Frequently asked questions
Is RWU90 the same as RW90?
They are different designations. RWU90 addresses underground-rated applications; RW90 alone does not establish direct-burial suitability.
Can an importer use one insulation thickness for all sizes?
No. The selected product’s wall requirements and dimensions vary by conductor size. Use the current drawing or datasheet for each ordered configuration.
Technical references
Manufacturer references explain the representative cable family and construction. They do not certify a TGS product. The agreed order drawing, product marking and applicable approval documents define the supplied cable.
