RW90 is a familiar designation in Canadian power-wire purchasing, yet voltage and installation permissions still vary between products. A buyer comparing Vietnam factories should establish those details before comparing reel prices. The same-looking black XLPE wire can carry different markings for different markets.

Inside the cable

The representative RW90 wire has a copper conductor with thermoset XLPE insulation. It is a single insulated conductor without a separate overall multicore jacket or armour. Smaller circuit sizes may be solid or stranded depending on the product; larger sizes use a defined stranded construction. Conductor metal, strand class and finished insulation diameter need their own entries in the buying specification.

Where it is used

RW90 enquiries cover services, feeders and branch wiring in recognized Canadian wiring systems for wet or dry locations. Buyers supplying building projects or distribution stock often need several colours and conductor sizes on bulk reels. Tray use, open wiring and outdoor exposure must be checked against the particular product marking and applicable installation method.

Ratings and selection points

RW90 indicates a 90°C thermoset wire category, but it does not establish direct burial. Underground-rated RWU90 is a separate designation to review for buried routes. The catalogue reference used for the existing size tables is 600 V, while other manufacturers offer different RW90 voltage ratings. A dual XHHW-2/RW90 wire can also have different voltage claims under each designation. Keep these details separate in the purchase order.

A clearer factory RFQ

A Canadian feeder RFQ should name RW90 and the required voltage, then give copper or aluminium, AWG/kcmil size, strand construction and colours. Add reel lengths and environmental conditions. If the factory proposes a dual-rated wire, request the complete legend and verify the Canadian rating independently of its US marking.

Compare the TGS RW90 configurations for the available reference size tables. State the required conductor resistance, nominal dimensions, test documents and marking for the exact order. Reference tables and illustrations guide the enquiry; the agreed drawing and approved specification define production.

Manufacturing in Vietnam with TGS

TGS Cable Industrial is a large manufacturing group producing wire and cable in Vietnam. The group has served Costco, Walmart, Target and many other customers for more than five years. That company-wide experience informs our work with importers, distributors and retail supply programmes. For your RW90 enquiry, our factory team reviews the construction, destination requirements, quantities and packing before confirming the order.

Frequently asked questions

Is all RW90 wire rated 1,000 V?

No. The current catalogue reference is 600 V; other products have different ratings. Read the selected wire’s documents and marking.

Can RW90 be substituted for RWU90 underground?

Do not infer burial suitability from RW90 alone. The cable must carry an applicable underground rating and satisfy the intended installation requirements.
